Wanted Shipyard Manager

Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works directly for owner with responsibility for building, fabrication and repairs of commercial fishing vessels.
Manages business in owners absence.
Oversees material billing and time tickets for projects under his/her direct control.
Provides estimates and solutions to prospective customers.
Attends trade shows and represents company to various bureaucratic organizations.
Provides hands-on education and training to welder fitters.
SKILLS AND/OR KNOWLEDGE
Minimum of 10 years Shipyard experience and 5 years Supervisory experience
Strong structural fabrication background
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Proficiency in welding processes, blueprint reading (all disciplines)
Proficiency in shipbuilding, ship repair processes and estimating.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
Familiarity with government and commercial requirements.
One who leads by example
Possesses a “can do” attitude with a strong desire to grow both Yard and Personal capabilities
CAD proficiency a plus
Ability to travel a must.
